attempts to explain

how he/she made

some predictions.

The student makes

reasonable predictions

for pouring in 3 times,

4 times and 5 times.

The student explains, to

some extent, how he/

she used at least one

earlier prediction to

help with at least one

later one.

The student makes no

reference to the lack

of straight sides on

one jug in influencing

his/her prediction or

decision about whether

the jugs could hold the

same amount.

The student makes

reasonable predictions

each time.

The student clearly

explains how he/she

used earlier predictions

to help with later ones.

The student expresses

awareness of the non-

straight sides of one
