With 2021-22 making for a turbulent year, we are starting to see some new factors creep into the market. The biggest issue on everyone’s forefront is centered around the current interest rate rises. This has resulted in a drop of gross sales throughout the Sydney market by about 30% over the past 6 months. Interestingly, since Covid we have seen an influx in “Executive Ecosystems” offering fully fitted-out offices for a plug and play experience. This model was initially designed for small companies, however there are bigger spaces available for organisations at all levels, providing employee’s with the amenities similar to what a residential tower in the CBD would offer. Finally, there is some serious investment coming into the CBD market. We are excited about the redevelopment of the Circular Quay precinct, including updates to the ferry ports. We believe this will be great addition to the area.
