Brisbane festivals BSAFEST, our very own Street Art Festival has just concluded after its short fortnight run from the 4th to the 19th May. This annual public art event seeks to provide opportunities for creative practitioners and the wider community to develop positive partnerships through engagement and collaboration. This year over 60 art works were created by some of the most exciting artists from both the Brisbane and international stage. Locally, the wall adjoining Eagle Junction Train Station was enhanced by the addition of some well-known Aussie lyrics which has lifted the appearance of the wall to fabulous new levels. Other events to look forward to in Brisbane this year are Brisbane City Council’s Green Heart Fair, the Scrapbook and Papercraft Expo, and Queensland’s annual Caravan, Camping and Touring Supershow. The Valley Fiesta kicks off in August and this year will run for five days! If a more restrained form of music is for you then there is the Chamber Music Festival on Stradbroke Island, or you might prefer the ballet – including the Bolshoi.
