FREO GRAPHIC Feb 2020 3 Didn’t get to meet him in person due to our lockdown in Perth. Fortunately, with Pat’s help we were able to enjoy Manuel’s journey on zoom. Manuel Goria Manuel is a Veterinarian, horse show jumper, an award-winning photographer, and has worked nationally and internationally in Formula One Racing. He started out photographing a range of sports, including golf, American grid iron and horse racing, along with a focus on sunsets and landscapes. Over time, Manuel’s desire for more action in his photos eventually led him into Formula One racing. He showed us some stunning images from his days as a F1 race photographer, including images of world-renowned racetracks from around the world. Manuel described some of the highlights of this work as well as the struggles, such as taking up to 15,000 photos in a weekend, carrying up to 30kgs worth of equipment at a time while walking up to 20kms a day. He highlighted many conventional commercial and traditional images of Formula One along with an amazing range of artistic and non-traditional photos. EDUCATION REPORT Education Report
