JASON FACTOR Ensemble and Dance Captain Jason has established himself as one of Newcastle’s most sought after performers. Jason was the Assistant Choreographer for Jersey Boys and has many performance credits to his name, including Jersey Boys (The Very Popular Theatre Company), Mamma Mia! (The Very Popular Theatre Company), CHESS (The Very Popular Theatre Company), Legally Blonde (Chookas Entertainment) and Chicago (Chookas Entertainment). Jason is also a regular performer in the CONDA (City of Newcastle Drama Association) Awards. Jason was awarded the Victor Emeljanow Legacy Award in 2022, which recognises his strong leadership within the Arts community, and playing a key role in upholding the professional infrastructure of arts in the region. CAST CONTINUED WARRICK GLYNN Pit Supervisor, ensemble Warrick entered musical theatre at the age of 12 in the cast of Oliver! in Melbourne. This led to a love of acting, singing and dancing, which he took to the stage, screen and TV. While studying singing, acting, jazz and tap dancing, Warrick performed major roles in The Pirates of Penzance, Hello Dolly, Brigadoon and many more. He danced in shows including Barnum, Mack and Mabel and Hair. More recently, Warrick has been writing and producing his own shows, which have been performed in Melbourne’s Midsumma Festival, the Melbourne International Comedy Festival and Hobart’s Short and Sweet Festival. Billy Elliot marks a return to the stage after a 30-year hiatus, during which time Warrick has lived in England, America, Zimbabwe, Tasmania and now Newcastle. Billy Elliot the Musical is Warrick’s debut with The Very Popular Theatre Company. ALICE GROVE Ballet Girl Alice started ballet at the age of 3 and has been obsessed ever since! Alice, now 11, attends The Hunter School of Performing Arts and performed in their production of Madagascar: A Musical Adventure JR. in 2022. She has danced at The Dance Establishment since 2016 and in 2021 was accepted into The Australian Ballet School in their interstate program. Billy Elliot the Musical is Alice’s debut with The Very Popular Theatre Company. PATRICK HOWLETT Ensemble Patrick has shown an enthusiasm and love for everything performance since his first primary school talent show. His love for the stage brought him into the hands of ASPIRE, the Catholic Schools Creative Arts Program, when he was only 12. He pursued this love for theatre with ASPIRE from 2016-2022, performing in There’s Something Strange About Marvin McRae, The Hoarders Next Door, Dark Matter, 365 Questions Issues and Good Deeds, The Pecking Order and The Cost of Wishes. Billy Elliot the Musical is Patrick’s debut with The Very Popular Theatre Company. ROSE KING Ballet Girl Rose is a dancer, actor, and singer who loves musical theatre. She has danced at Northcott Dance for 10 years and is training in RAD classical ballet, jazz, contemporary and tap. She is studying drama in year 8 at Hunter School of the Performing Arts and is an Intermediate Musical Theatre student at Hunter Drama. Rose performed as an orphan in Hunter Drama’s production of Oliver! in 2022 and, later that year, joined the ensemble cast of the award-winning production of Seussical, also with Hunter Drama. Billy Elliot the Musical is Rose’s debut with The Very Popular Theatre Company. 30
