22 Burning Palms Surf Life Saving Club Inc. – 86th Annual Report – 2024-2025 Season In any organisation there will be disagreements and alternate points of view. We have various avenues through which these matters can be raised. These can be your Patrol Captain, a Committee member or the Member Services Officer or the Complaint manager. Member Recognition We rightly take pride in recognising the achievements and contributions of our members. This can be a successful rescue or first aid or a member obtaining a new award. Such accomplishments are celebrated on our social media channels and in our Down the Track newsletters and at the AGM. Member Protection Ensuring a safe (physically and mentally) inclusive environment is fundamental to our club's values and those of SLS NSW. There are dedicated resources and protocols in place to address any concerns regarding unsafe practices, harassment, abuse, or inappropriate behaviour. Burning Palms SLSC is committed to protecting children and young people, adhering to Surf Life Saving Australia's zero-tolerance policy against harm, abuse, or neglect. We maintain a child-safe culture and provide support, training and reporting mechanisms to all members. Support from SLS NSW and SLS Sydney is available to support the implementation of these policies. Thank you to you all for being and continuing to be a part of our club no matter your role or contribution. No contribution is too small or insignificant. I look forward to season 2025/26, to keeping our members and visitors safe and enjoying what is the best club at the very least on the east coast. We enjoy a special location and environment and need to continue to work together to be able to provide the opportunities we enjoy to future Burning Palms members.
