Fig leaves are not enough

women sometimes don’t really have a choice, but that also brings up the question of whether or not women should be involved in those kinds of work at all – but let’s save that one for another conversation… I do know a practicing female doctor who has gradually shifted to always wearing a dress at work. It has not created any problems for her, but interestingly has spurred a number of questions about her attire, giving her the opportunity to explain the reasons for Christian modesty. Another young woman who is a teacher of primary school children and who shifted to only wearing beautiful feminine attire to school was amazed to find her little students of age 7 and 8, both boys and girls, notice, comment, and compliment her on her feminine clothing. There are occasions in which wearing a dress would be dangerous. If you have to do work on a ladder, wear some baggy trousers and make sure you have a long blouse or tunic that extends well past your hips and provides sufficient coverage of the posterior. Do the same if you have to work around dangerous machinery in which a dress could be caught, and you or others could be seriously injured. In defence of women wearing trousers, people frequently bring up the example of St Joan of Arc who, when sent by God to lead the French armies, surrounded by men with whom she had to share living quarters, donned male military apparel and armour, 81
