J A C K A U S T R A L I A 38 bit 8BIT SERVES UP 80'S AND 90'S ARCADE GAME NOSTALGIA WITH AMERICAN STYLE BURGERS. T he main concept around 8bit is nostalgia. We wanted to open an American diner serving burgers, hot dogs, fries and shakes.. but we wanted to mix it up a little bit, as you see American style diners that are usually fitted out like they were in the 50’s, but we are young and wanted to do something that was more nostalgic to us personally.. which was the 80’s and 90’s and a big part of that for us in that era was video games. The video game concept came from us chatting about how as kids, when you were to go to a fish and chip shop, or pizza shop, there was always a video game machine or pinball in the corner, where we would beg our parents for some coins to play whilst we waited for our food. This conversation of memories, ignited the full concept of 8bit. With video games, we were able to create a nostalgic place for everyone that also loved that era and we named all the burgers after our favourites. With our graphic designer we created our branding, graphics and logos that really reflected that era and what we set out to achieve with 8bit.
