CO-CURRICULAR 114 ST PATRICK’S COLLEGE STRATHFIELD LUMEN 2024 DIRECTOR OF CO-CURRICULAR Mr A Calavassy Director of Co-Curricular Focus on the right goal. The goal is not to win. Winning is beyond our control; what we can control is our focus. - Andre Agassi As I reflect on 2024, I am filled with gratitude and pride. This year has been one of growth, change, and exciting new possibilities for our Co-curricular Program, and I am deeply honoured to have led it in my first year as Director of Co-curricular. The year began with a significant leadership transition. It was daunting to think that, for the first time since 1998, Mr Steven Fochesato was not an integral member of the College Cocurricular Program leadership. Stepping into this role, I was committed to building on the strong foundation he established while also embracing new ideas and approaches to enrich our students’ experiences. I am truly grateful for the support, trust, and collaboration I’ve received throughout this transition. The energy, enthusiasm, and passion of students, parents, and staff have made this first year an unforgettable journey. The co-curricular program is vital to student life, offering opportunities for growth beyond the classroom. This year, students continued to embrace all that the College has to offer. Whether on the sporting fields, on stage, or through community service, our students embraced every opportunity to challenge themselves and make meaningful contributions to our school community. We are also proud to recognise the following students for their outstanding participation in the College Co-curricular Program for 2024: Five activities: Camilio Chelala, William Zeng, Nathaniel Hoang, Dominic Moses, Maxwell Zanic, Brandon Braun, Isaac Nigro, Pablo Doherty, Declan Giles Six activities: Denzel Tan Seven activities: Ryan Stanmore, Gideon Benedict Eight activities: Christopher Mok These students exemplify the SPC spirit, enriching our community through their enthusiasm for multiple pursuits. Their dedication sets a high standard for others to aspire to. I would like to extend special thanks to Mr Samuel Boggs (Head of Sport), Mr Brett Davidson (Assistant to the Head of Sport), Mr John Locke (Head of Co-curricular Stage 3), and Dr David Taylor (Ensemble Coordinator) for their continued dedication and selflessness. Additionally, I would like to thank Dr Lavorato and members of the Leadership Team for their unwavering support of me and the Co-curricular Program. A heartfelt thank you also goes to the many teaching staff, Old Boys, and parents who volunteered their time as coaches, managers, and supervisors across our activities. The achievements of 2024 highlight the vibrancy and diversity of our co-curricular offerings. From sporting excellence to the creative brilliance on stage, our students have demonstrated that they are excelling not only academically but also developing into well-rounded, committed individuals. As we celebrate these successes, I look forward to another year of growth, new opportunities, and even greater achievements in 2025.
