LIBERATING EDUCATION 091 ST PATRICK’S COLLEGE STRATHFIELD LUMEN 2024 This year in Religious Education has been a memorable and enriching journey for our students. We have explored a wide range of topics that have challenged us to think deeply about our values, beliefs, and how we engage with the world around us. From studying the life and teachings of Jesus to discussing how faith intersects with contemporary issues, our classes have been a place of thoughtful discussion and personal growth. One of the standout aspects of this year has been the open and respectful dialogue students have engaged in. Whether discussing complex theological ideas or real-world ethical dilemmas, students have shown a genuine curiosity and a willingness to listen to and understand different perspectives. It has been inspiring to see them apply their learning to everyday situations, and they have consistently demonstrated how the teachings of our faith can guide us in making compassionate and just decisions. A particularly special highlight of the year has been the opportunity to welcome our seminarian, Cronan Yu, into the classroom. His presence has added a new and dynamic dimension to our lessons. With his deep knowledge and passion for theology, he has offered valuable insights that have enriched our discussions. Beyond that, his kindness and willingness to share his personal faith journey have been inspiring to both students and staff. His approachable nature made him a wonderful role model, and he has helped foster a deeper connection between our students and the faith we study. Cronan’s contributions have helped make Religious Education more relatable and engaging, reminding us that faith is not just something we study, but something we live out every day. He has also been a wonderful example of someone who is dedicating his life to serving others, which has sparked many thoughtful conversations about vocation, service, and the broader role of faith in our lives. In all, this year’s Religious Education Program has not only deepened our understanding of faith but has also strengthened the bonds within our school community. Whether it was the teachings of Jesus, what it means to be Catholic or the search for meaning, we look forward to continuing these important discussions and carrying forward the lessons learned this year into our lives beyond the classroom.
