For the 2025 Sculpture on the Farm exhibition, we are excited to welcome two distinguished judges who will play a pivotal role in determining the recipients of our $57,000 prize pool across 10 categories. Our first judge, Lauretta Morton OAM, brings a wealth of expertise in arts leadership and gallery direction, with a keen eye for curating exceptional art experiences. The second judge, Johannes Pannekoek, is an award-winning, hands-on sculptor, celebrated for his skill in creating impactful, innovative works of art. Together, their combined experience and unique perspectives will ensure a professional and inspiring selection process for this year’s awards. “Our very sincere thanks go to both Lauretta and Johannes for agreeing to undertake the enormous task of reviewing all 176 sculptures to identify the winning works. In particular we thank Johannes who has flown across from Western Australia to take on the special role of judge for SOF 2025. And we thank Lauretta for clearing time in her busy schedule as the Newcastle Art Gallery prepares for its imminent reopening in September. The impact their decisions make in recognising innovation and excellence is indeed significant for the participating sculptors.” Meet the 2025 Judges
