I then imagine its former expanse, its strength, its radiance, its shade. The drawing of this imagined tree is created by burning grass. It naturally depends on the terrain that hosts this remnant of the tree. This work extends my earlier sculptures exploring Soviet Era monuments. I take the visual language of that art form and add my own spin, incorporating science fiction and space travel.
