34 | WATERLINE April 2026 INDUSTRY NEWS NAWI ISLAND MARINA, FIJI IS SET TO EXPAND Construction is expected to commence mid 2026 on a new resort planned at Nawi Island Marina, marking the next phase of development in Fiji’s Northern Division. The project is expected to contribute to tourism growth and generate employment opportunities in the Savusavu area. The resort is planned as the third stage of development at the marina. Nawi Island Manager, Grace Lee, says the project will build on existing operations at the site. Nawi Island Marina is already fully operational and includes dining outlets, retail spaces, a pool club and onsite accommodation. The facility includes 132 berths to accommodate vessels from nine metres up to 85 metres in length. The marina has been constructed to Australian standards and is certified to withstand up to Category 5 cyclones. Its facilities include a fuel jetty, a seaplane dock, full-length pontoons and sewage pump-out services. The marina also provides laundry services, toilet and shower facilities. At the centre of the marina is the island of Korovesa, which includes administrative offices, chandlery, grocery store, superyacht agent, an activities centre and a currency exchange shop.
