5 EMERGENCY COLOUR CODES Incidents that occur in buildings are categorised into the following colour codes Red Purple Blue Black Yellow Brown Orange Evacuation External Emergency Internal Emergency Personal Threat Medical Emergency Bomb Threat Fire and/or Smoke Fire Safety and Evacuation is the responsibility of EVERYperson Even if you are not a member of the Emergency Control Organisation you may be called upon to assist or expected to cooperate with lawful instructions. It is reasonable for any workplace to expect staff to actively contribute towards creating a safer working environment, including prevention and evacuation. It all starts with prevention.
