6 PREVENTION Typical Hazards and Points to be Noted: Faulty electrical wiring or appliances Items blocking access to exits, egress, re protection appliances and alarms Ensure that doors to stairwells are closed or close automatically at all times Report items that block a clear view of emergency signs Report any missing or discharged extinguishers Report any leakage of ammable gases or liquids Report any excessive collection of rubbish, dust or spill of liquids FIRE PREVENTION IS THE RESPONSIBILITY OF EVERY OCCUPANT. YOU ARE EXPECTED TO REPORT ANY MATTER WHICH YOU CONSIDER IS A POTENTIAL HAZARD. BE FIRE/SMOKE CONSCIOUS KNOW THE LOCATION AND USE OF ALL FIRE APPLIANCES IN YOUR AREA THE FIRST RESPONSIBILITY OF ALL PERSONS IN AN EMERGENCY IS TO IMMEDIATELY MOVE PERSONS IN DANGER TOSAFETYAND/ORRAISE THEALARM
