GPT Emergency Guidelines

9 OUTSIDE BUSINESS HOURS (AFTER HOURS PROCEDURE) Wardens will only manage a possible emergency during business hours. After hours, all persons should, for their own safety, evacuate their oor when any tone is sounded and await instruction from the Emergency Services before re-entering the building. The following proceduremust be followed:  EVACUATE upon hearing theALERTTONE (Beep, beep, beep)  Do not assume it is a “false alarm” even though there is no evidence of re on your oor/area  If you see re or smoke call 000  Check that your oor is clear of other occupants, assemble at the nearest EMERGENCY STAIRWELL/EXIT  Exit via the EMERGENCYSTAIRWELL/EXIT, do not carry bulky items down the Emergency Stairwell  Once clear of the building, stay in a safe place  Report to attending Emergency Services Personnel the status of your oor/area HINT: YOUR BUILDING HAS EVACUATION SIGNS/DIAGRAMS ON DISPLAY.
