YEAR 7 REPORT
It is with great pleasure that
I have been able to lead the
2015 Year 7’s of OLMC in
their transition into high
school. It seems like not long
ago, when the year 7’s were
commencing their journey as
Mercy girls.
The year began with a camp
in the National Park, called
Deer Park, where the girls
were able to enjoy and engage in a range of activities:
from canoeing to bushwalking and the waterslide,
and they were able to develop cooperative group
problem solving skills. The girls thoroughly enjoyed
their stay in the National Park accommodation and
their campfire activity in the evening.
As the year progressed they not only furthered their
educational and academic skills but also built upon
their IT skills through the use of their laptops and
the Google suite of applications. These opportunities
offer the girls many chances to produce evidence of
their learning in a sophisticated manner.
The year 7 disco held at De La Salle Caringbah was
another highlight to the social calendar and the girls
seemed to enjoy the night very
much.Wefinished the
year with a visit to Jamberoo, which was a wonderful
way to foster friendships and enjoy the wonders of
the Southern Highlands.
I wish all of year 7 2015 the best of luck in their
studies in year 8. It has been a privilege to guide them
throughout 2015.
