36 140th Anniversary Book In our 140th year, we were thrilled to introduce to you ‘From Homesteads to High-rises: 140 Years of Raine & Horne’ our epic masterwork detailing the remarkable history of our company since our inception in 1883. This enormous project was brought to life through the support and leadership of Executive Chairman, Angus Raine, who’s dedication and guidance played a pivotal role in bringing the magnificent story of our company to life. Initially scheduled for release closer to our official 140th anniversary on 23 May 2023, the book’s completion was temporarily postponed due to the untimely death of Max Raine in February, a significant figure whose contributions to the super brand have been seamlessly woven into the narrative. ‘From Homesteads to High-rises: Celebrating 140 Years of Raine & Horne’ takes readers on an extraordinary journey through our history which predates well-known established Australian brands such as prominent financial services giant Commonwealth Bank and renowned retailers Unveiling our epic masterwork: ‘From Homesteads to High-rises: 140 Years of Raine & Horne’ Coles and Myer. The origins of our firm trace back even further than the likes of Qantas, which only took flight after World War 1.
