Fig leaves are not enough

Dear Father, I don’t know how to thank you for the reply to my last letter. I showed it to Mum and she was over the moon with delight. So many things you mentioned, many of us women never think about, so your perspective, being that of a man and a priest, was most insightful and enlightening. Thank you so much for putting it so clearly, Father. On that note, I hope you don’t mind, but I did have a few more specific questions to which I was again hoping you would provide some clear answers. I’m just going to dive straight into them. One thing I noticed in all that you wrote is that you seem to assume that women wear dresses and skirts. You hardly ever mention trousers. Now, my mother never wears them, nor does my sister, but a lot of my friends do, and if I had to count the percentage of women I see out there, I’d say the immense majority wear trousers. I tried to apply to this the principles you gave me about modesty, and found myself wondering. I can see that very tight fitting trousers – especially the skintight leggings so many of my friends wear, that show too much of the shape of the lower body – are immodest. But what about normal trousers or jeans or even baggy trousers? Is it OK to wear those? And also what about sports?
