2025 Luminosity Youth Summit 11 KATE WOOD FOYE Kate is the Co-Founder & Chair of Luminosity Youth Summit – a national youth leadership, health and wellbeing forum creating inspiration, equity and access for regional and rural young people, held in Port Macquarie and now in its 13th year. Passionate about her coastal home, Kate has built a 25-year career in Port Macquarie focused on community engagement, public relations, media, business strategy, marketing, and special events. In 2022, she was named Port Macquarie Woman of the Year by the NSW Government for her contributions to the Hastings community and in 2024 Awarded as a Paul Harris Fellow by Rotary International for her work to inspire HOPE in her community, previously as Director of External Engagement at Charles Sturt University, she led the University’s engagement on the Mid North Coast, building relationships and delivering regional strategic objectives. As Area Director of Sales & Marketing for EVENT Group (Sails Resort & Rydges Port Macquarie), partner strategies and the relaunch of the resort after a $25 million refurbishment. Kate is a passionate advocate for youth and believes your postcode should not determine your success—an ethos she brings to life on the Luminosity stage. SABRINA BOWDEN Sabrina is passionate about people and her community which goes hand in hand with her work at Regional Australia Bank and Luminosity. With nearly a decade of experience at Regional Australia Bank, working her way up to her current role as Regional Manager, Sabrina is passionate about community engagement and joined the Luminosity Committee to join the team that brings more opportunities to young adults from regional Australia. She is proud to be part of these great organisations. KATE MACFARLANE Kate is a seasoned business and stakeholder engagement specialist with over 25 years of experience, particularly in youth-focused sectors. She has held key roles at the University of Sydney, Charles Sturt University, Youth Off the Streets, Redkite, and ReachOut. Kate has held leadership positions in disaster management, supporting communities across the North Coast to prepare for, as well as recover from, disasters like bushfires, floods, and COVID-19. Kate is currently the Manager of Community Engagement at TAFE NSW. Her work focuses on developing meaningful, long-term training solutions that foster capacity building and regional growth across the North Coast. Kate has been a Luminosity Youth Summit Committee member since 2019, championing the summit’s mission to inspire and equip young people with the tools and opportunities to create their best lives! NATHAN HOLLINGWORTH Nathan Hollingworth is a Port Macquarie local. He has completed a Bachelor of Creative Industries (Graphic Design) and a Graduate Certificate in Applied Digital Marketing at Charles Sturt University. During his time studying, Nathan volunteered as the Events Coordinator of the Port SRC and as an Academic Senate Student Representative. He currently works for Charles Sturt University within the Division of Finance. When not working Nathan can be found creating art or behind the lens of a camera. Nathan has been a Luminosity Crew member for over six years as part of the creative team behind the scenes. Nathan loves to promote the use of creativity to inspire fresh ideas amongst the future generation of leaders. EM HOLLINGWORTH Em Hollingworth is a 2025 graduate of Charles Sturt University, where she completed a Bachelor of Criminal Justice with a specialisation in Behaviour and Juvenile Justice. Her academic journey reflects a strong commitment to understanding the complexities of youth behaviour and contributing meaningfully to the criminal justice system. With over nine years of service with the Luminosity Crew, Em has held the role of Partnership and Sponsorship Coordinator, actively fostering youth empowerment and community engagement. Her dedication to supporting young people is central to her professional identity and volunteer work. Em was awarded the Australian National Emergency Medal in 2022 for her volunteer medical service during the devastating bushfires and floods. Looking ahead, Em plans to pursue postgraduate study in the juvenile justice field, with the goal of contributing to systemic reforms that build more rehabilitative, inclusive, and trauma-informed responses for young offenders. LAURA FAVA Laura has a wealth of knowledge and experience that stems from working for more than 10 years in hotel management and being a small business owner in the hospitality industry. Laura moved with her family to Port Macquarie seven years ago and has been working as an accountant with Magnified. Laura’s love for numbers grew whilst doing bookkeeping for her own business, which encouraged her to successfully complete a Bachelor of Accounting degree. Out of the office Laura loves to relax with a good novel in the sun, go the beach and spend lots of time with her gorgeous girls. 11 2025 Team
