2025 Luminosity Youth Summit 5 Ignite your Imagination at Luminosity Welcome to the 13th annual Luminosity Youth Summit – we invite you to IMAGINE & IGNITE the brightest future for yourself across the next two incredible days. For those of you about to experience this Summit for the very first time, you have a surprising, exciting and challenging experience ahead of you and for those who return to soak up the energy and the inspiration this Summit is renowned for – welcome back, you are among friends! I am immensely humbled and honoured to work with an amazing team who have come together to handpick over 25 of the best speakers from across the globe to share their incredible knowledge and passion with you on the LUMO stage. These inspiring leaders continue to excel in their own journey whether it be in business, sport, performance, engineering, robotics, artificial intelligence, behavioural science, communication, science, health and wellbeing, human rights, performing and creative arts or protection of our fragile and beautiful environment. Each person has a story to tell, a secret or strategy to share and you have front row seats to experience some of the most exciting minds of our time to see how their Dangerous Ideas moved from imagination to reality. Welcome Message Kate Many of our globally renowned presenters will ensure that you have an insight into the very moment they had the vision to create their first dangerous idea, the moment they took action, their progress and setbacks, literally their first steps to making their unique mark on the world in creating and writing their own story. Many of our presenters had the courage to make decisions very early in their lives and careers that set them on their trajectory to success and have overcome immense challenges to be where they are today. They have each embarked on a unique journey where they imagined all of the possibilities and ignited a fire within them to bring them to life – we invite you to do the same. Some of them have travelled from right here on the Mid North Coast to achieve success and impact on the world stage. We hope that the Summit, the masterclasses and mainstage presentations, the friendships and the ideas that are discussed over the course of the next two days, inspire you to start writing your own story, to challenge your doubts and fears and use the secrets shared on this stage to imagine and ignite in creating a dazzlingly bright and fulfilling future for yourself and those you love. How amazing to think that the next few days could kick start a journey for you, provide a clearer path of where you might be or simply provide the inspiration and courage to say yes to an opportunity and have the tenacity and positivity to pursue your passion, whatever that may be. One thing is certain, our Luminosity line-up will testify that there is no single secret formula, no typical personality type or level of academic ability that ensures success. Each dream and journey is as unique as you are. I encourage you to give yourself up to the experience and let go of any doubts, fears or worries – this is a safe, exciting and unique platform – own it and enjoy it – the insider information that is shared, the little gems of inspiration are right here for the taking, step up and grab them! The exciting thing about this Summit is that it was itself a Dangerous Idea discussed across a table over 13 years ago and manifests today as this event. Through the imagination, vision, inspiration, innovation, courage, collaboration, curiosity, and creativity of a dedicated team and a supportive regional business and services community that provides both key financial funding and strategic support, this program is as diverse and dynamic as those in our capital cities. Luminosity is a flagship event for our coastal region and an exciting space for young leaders like yourself to look to the future and grow. It is with sincere thanks and excitement that we launch into Luminosity Youth Summit 2025 and begin an adventure to imagine and ignite your future. 2025 Luminosity Youth Summit 20 Emma Carey Emma Carey is a writer, artist, speaker and entrepreneur. After following her love for travel and adventure around the world, she found herself in Switzerland where an unexpected near-death experience completely altered her life. She defied all odds by surviving a skydiving accident that broke her spine and left her a paraplegic, she defied them once more by learning to walk again after doctors told her she wouldn’t. Following the turbulence and transformation of her accident, she has been on a mission to share her unique story in the hope to inspire and enhance the lives of those around her. She has amassed over 190,000 Instagram followers and is now a famed author of the book The Girl Who Fell from the Sky. Emma feels excited about this next chapter in her life - moving forward from what happened to her and rediscovering her love of travel and adventure. Emma will be speaking about an experience she had at twenty years old that altered not only her physical body but the way she views the world. Although Emma’s accident was traumatic and difficult, she believes it taught her countless lessons and she shares her story with the aim to give others an insight into those lessons, without having to go through the trauma themselves. She focuses on perspective shifting, appreciation (for both life and all your body can do for you), gratitude, resilience, acceptance, adaptability and ends with her take away message of ‘if you can, you must’. Emma will also explain what it truly felt like to think she was moments away from death, as well as what it’s like to live with a spinal cord injury and the process of learning to walk again. 2025 Luminosity Youth Summit 24 Teresa Truda Hey, I’m TT. Human - Geek - Entrepreneur Well, it’s been a ride. Quite a few, actually — on surfboards, motorbikes, and the wild rollercoaster of tech and entrepreneurship. I’m Teresa Truda, but you can call me Tez, Tezlet, T, Tersi, TT — your pick. Just don’t call me Tes. My career kicked off in digital strategy, advertising, and production, working with some of the biggest brands. Then, in a plot twist, I packed three oversized suitcases and moved to China. Didn’t speak a word of Mandarin, had never set foot in Asia — minor details. There, I cofounded chozun, an AI and blockchain-powered travel ecosystem that landed in 22 cities across APAC and became one of China’s top five travel apps. The journey earned me a GBC award for Female Entrepreneurship and a nod as one of the world’s top 10 crypto experts. After exiting chozun, I came back to Australia, wondering, “Who am I without being ‘The Founder’?” Turns out, I’m a builder — of businesses, brands, and gamechanging strategies. With over 20 years in tech, I’ve learned a thing or two (sometimes the hard way). Now, I get to impart those lessons — on teams, peers, and students — so they can move faster, fail smarter, and innovate better. These days, I work at the intersection of emerging technology, AI, and automation, helping companies create impact and purpose-driven solutions. I consult on Digital transformation, CX, and product strategy, and I’m a board member and advisor to a couple of awesome tech-led companies. I also lecture and mentor at Melbourne’s leading universities. I’ve recently also started working with Surf the Spectrum, a social enterprise using surfing as therapy for neurodiverse kids. It’s rewarding to bring years of business experience to something with purpose and impact. If I’m not in the tech world, I’m probably in the ocean, seeking the sun like a lizard — or on a bike, chasing the next adventure. Felt like you don’t fit the mould? Same. 2025 Luminosity Youth Summit 27 Keanu Jai I’m a 20-year-old singer songwriter currently living it out in Melbourne, paying my dues as a musician by making coffee, finding my feet, getting inspired by all that is around me, and playing to 10,000 people a day… (busking at the state library.. that is). For the last 12 months I’ve been bunkered in with my dear friend and producer Peter Hume (evermore), where we have set out to make my first EP. My first single is going to come out later this year – a song that I think is just as nostalgic, personal and bittersweet as it is fun, warm and lush. I’m really proud to share with you where I’m at :) I’ve shared stages with some bands and artists that I spent my younger years adoring, including The Rubens, Thelma Plum, Pacific Avenue, Emily Wurramurra, Selfish Sons, Ash Grunwald, Dizzy Days, Kyle Lionhart and more, but I know this is just the beginning. In true coming-of-age fashion, I’m working on it! Paying a visit to his hometown Port Macquarie after a few years of big city living, 20-year-old singersongwriter Keanu Jai has had some big wins already, but he knows there is still a long road ahead. Keanu will talk about his idea of ‘the dream’, life as a small artist in Melbourne, the beauty of street performing, building community, and the importance (and joy) of creating your own opportunities. This will include the performance of two original songs that showcase his voice, his sound and his journey thus far. 2025 Luminosity Youth Summit 30 Jahin Tanvir Imagine a world where the voices of the youth are not just heard but lead the charge in shaping our future. My name is Jahin Tanvir, and at 21, I was honoured to be named among the 40 under 40 Most Influential Asian-Australians. As the CEO of the Australian School of Entrepreneurship, I’ve had the privilege of empowering over 180,000 young minds across our nation. Today, I stand before you, not just as a testament to what youth can achieve, but as a beacon to ignite the potential within each one of you. Together, let’s imagine, let’s ignite, and let’s transform our world. Co-presented by Jahin presents a compelling vision of entrepreneurship as a catalyst for social transformation. As the Gen Z CEO of the Australian School of Entrepreneurship, Jahin draws from lived experience - rising from a first-generation migrant background to national leadership - to highlight the power of purpose-driven enterprise. His address explores how young people can move beyond imagination to ignition, using entrepreneurial thinking to address systemic challenges and champion equity. Jahin shares the founding story of his EdTech social enterprise at 21 years old, created to close public speaking gaps for marginalised communities, which has now impacted over 16,000 people. Through this and other ventures, he illustrates how business tools can be harnessed to create inclusive, community-centred solutions. From leading ASE to empowering over 260,000 young Australians, Jahin delves into strategies for cultivating innovation and resilience in emerging changemakers. He shares insights from collaborations with UNICEF and global youth leaders, amplifying the role of young entrepreneurs in reshaping industries with integrity and vision. Jahin’s message is ultimately a call to action: to embrace entrepreneurship not just as a career path, but as a vehicle for justice, empowerment, and systemic impact. He encourages youth to imagine your role in building a fairer world - and to ignite that vision through enterprise. • Business for Good: Leveraging enterprises to address societal challenges • Young Leaders Matter: The indispensable value of youth perspectives • Catalysts for Social Change: Embracing roles as change agents • Entrepreneurship and Enterprise: Tools to transform imagination into reality Co-Founder & CEO of the Australian School of Entrepreneurship Day One Keynote Presentation Bio Speaker Profile From Imagination to Ignition: Entrepreneurship & Social Change
