34 | WATERLINE September 2025 In concert with a new management and ownership structure, Auckland Council introduced a refreshed brand identity across its three city centre marinas. Westhaven Marina, New Zealand’s largest recreational marina, and Silo Marina, one of the country’s leading superyacht facilities, retain their existing names but adopt refreshed visual identities. Viaduct Marina has been renamed Auckland Central Marina to reflect its city centre location. The Silo and Auckland Central marinas team have relocated to a more central office allowing them to better service and support berth holders. The marinas will continue to be managed by the same experienced team, led by Head of Marinas Kevin Lidgard CMM and Marinas Manager Gareth Wilson CMM. Under the guidance of Gareth Wilson CMM and his team, Westhaven Marina was awarded the prestigious Marina Industries Association 5 Gold Anchor accreditation in March 2025, making it just the second marina in New Zealand to receive this international standard. Westhaven also took out the Highly Commended Award in the 2025 Nautilus Marine Insurance Marina of the Year Awards. Cimolai Technology has recently completed the commissioning of a 50-ton Boat Hoist at Midcoast Boatyard & Marine in Newcastle, New South Wales, marking an important step in Cimolai’s international growth.
