braces, supports and encourages
live music. The other is the peo-
ple you meet and places I’ve been
able to visit, so many memorable
experiences and friends met along
the way.
What is something you could do
without?
Losing guitar picks! They are for-
ever disappearing!
How do you prepare for a gig?
Gig prep starts well in advance
usually, always rehearsing new
material and putting a set together
a few days before hand. Before the
gig I will do some vocal and gui-
tar warm ups, get show ready, put
all the music gear in band wagon
and head to the gig. Sometimes
the pre gig jitters are soothed by a
Jack Daniels and a bottle of water
and then it all starts.
Who are you musical influences?
Frank Sinatra, Florence + The
Machine, Jack Johnston and Ray
Charles stand out as favourite go-
to artists for inspiration.
Who are you listening to at the
moment?
I’m really liking the new Florence
+ The Machine songs, Skrillex and
Major Lazer. There’s also a Rodg-
eriuz CD in the car.
When you’re not gigging what
do you do for work & play?
By day, I work for a local motor oil
company as a spare parts inter-
prepter and sales person in Nar-
rabri. It’s a really interesting and
exciting job, in an industry I hadn’t
explored but now I wouldn’t have
it any other way.
In my spare time I enjoying spend-
ing time with my fiancé, Brad, our
families and my wonderful friends.
I’m always mucking around with
instruments and machines like pi-
ano, synth pad and mini DJ decks.
I love listening to live music so I
always head out to listen when
there’s a spare night.
As a young community member,
what is something that you think
Narrabri needs?
In the short term, good rain would
be great! On another note, more
activities and events to allow the
whole community to learn, enjoy
music and creative arts would be
great to see.
And finally Baked Beans or Spa-
ghetti?
Definitely Spaghetti.
