As employees we know, the results for ‘The Way We Work’ survey
have now been conveyed across the organisation and all Barminco
team members will have had the opportunity to see them.
Significantly, there were approximately 3,000 comments
received during the survey process and our team has worked
through each one of them, using this information to look at what
is required to address the needs of our business.
Detailed planning is now taking place and further information
and updates will be brought to team members in the future.
In the meantime, we think it’s fair to say this is an exciting time
for Barminco - so watch this space for more details.
Making the most of
managing teams
Earlier this year, our Diamond Drill supervisors participated in a
two day workshop which was focused on leading others.
This involved the supervisors looking at their individual
leadership style, how it impacts on others and, as a result, how
improvements could be made to their work relationships through
better communication and engagement.
Significantly, this workshop also recently commenced in
Tasmania, with leaders from both Rosebery and Renison taking
part in August and November.
And the great news is that others are also being scheduled, so
watch this space for more details.
Learning about our
Graduate Program
The Barminco Graduate Program intake, takes place annually.
The two year program provides the necessary experience to
qualify for the certificates of competency required to obtain an
underground shift supervisors certificate.
The growth and development of each of our graduates is
promoted through the program’s focus on:
• hands-on training in skills unique to careers in mining
• exposure to many different underground mining methods and
environments
• building core leadership skills required to effectively manage
people and teams
To find out more about our Graduate Program, contact John
Grant, HSE Manager.
