Amazing gift ideas for home and garden

My daughter’s name is Claire but

ever since she was a baby her

brothers, Gus & Alex have called

her ‘kiki’.

Around the time I was looking

for a name for my brand we also

had five poddy calves that Claire

loved to play with, so it became

‘Kiki&moo’ .

What does the Kiki&moo range

include?

I have a warmer months collec-

tion which includes Rugby shorts,

Mini skirts, Smock tops and

Smock dresses, reversible dresses

all of which are made using 100%

cotton or linen fabrics.

My cooler months collection is my

favourite, it includes Quilted Vests,

Woollen Swing coats and woollen

Duffle coats. Colours and patterns

play a big part in my pieces… I am

a big believer in dressing kids in

colour.

Many of my items are designed to

be worn all year round, simply by

adding layers the warmer months

collection can be worn in the

cooler months too.

How long does the average gar-

ment take?

My pieces vary from taking half

an hour to make to several hours.

I can change fabrics through-

out the process or want to add

something extra, this always takes

extra time.

Where do you draw inspiration

from for your designs?

I get inspiration from many

things… My kids, colours,

textures… I love seeing my kids

move and be comfortable whilst

looking gorgeous… natural fibres

are amazing to wear and also as a

handmaiden, they are beautiful to

work with.

I love playing with colours

textures & patterns. I will some-

times get a “colour block” where I

can’t decide which two fabrics to

combine especially for a Quilted

vest so I’ll grab a bundle of my

fabrics and pop them on the table

together in a mess. Most of the

time the right combo will pop out

of this mess of fabrics… I could

go on and on… I absolutely love

colours and textures. I am also

lucky to have a couple of creative

girlfirends who give ideas on

fabrics, colour and style.

Where can Kiki&moo be found?

Kiki&moo can be found at

McInnes Clothing Company

Narrabri & Wee Waa. I have a

Kiki&moo facebook page where

I share my collection pieces.

My Kiki&moo ETSY store will be

stocked again soon.

What are your plans for 2016?

I am hoping to get much more

sewing done in 2016 as my

number three is off to Kindy. I

want to really focus on my cooler

months collection. I am hoping

to get more and more pieces

into McInnes Clothing Company…

their shops are a fabulous selling

platform for me as they love to

support Australian clothing espe-

cially locally made.

I also want to take some time

to work on the business side of

things as far too often I neglect

that side because I would much

rather create.

Apart from Kiki&moo, what do

you get up to?

Being a mum to three kids takes

up most of my time, but we also

own a small mob of Angus cattle.

I love my cows! All those who

know me, know how much I love

them. We take a lot of time doing

things with the kids on weekends

like kayaking, dirtbike riding and

spending time with our friends.
