Integricare

Chief Executive Officer’s Report

This year Integricare celebrated 134 years of caring for the

community. It has been a history of many chapters

characterised by a willingness to honour and serve Jesus

Christ in making a positive difference in the lives of

families, children and disadvantaged people. Our

developments primarily in childcare and education are a

long way from Integricare’s beginnings but are examples

of an evolutionary process that has been a central

strength of Integricare.

The character of the organisation is expressed in small

ways in how our staff work with the families and children

they support and care for and in larger ways, such as the

strategic direction of the organisation.

I am very proud of what has been achieved in Integricare

during the last year and want to commend the staff for

their exceptional service to the people we serve. This

report gives a small glimpse of what has been achieved

and the lives we have touched.

We live in a constantly changing world, and a constantly

changing environment. We have faced a number of

difficult challenges throughout the year. The change in

the nature of Preschool funding (only receiving funding

for four year olds) has placed additional pressure on our

financial resources. The closure of our Family Day Care

Programs has meant we have had to re evaluate how we

provide financially viable services to the community.

Despite these challenges Integricare continues to look at

new ways to expand our services. Currently we are

speaking to a couple of churches about the possibility of

managing their Preschools. The organisation is also

looking at establishing a new and innovative program to

meet the needs of emergency housing for homeless

domestic violence victims. During the year Integricare

also appointed a Chaplain, Rev Charles Brammall. The

Chaplain will be responsible for providing appropriate

spiritual and emotional support to staff, clients and their

families. We believe that these new opportunities are God

given, and that we must constantly look to Him for the

strength and wisdom to be good stewards of the

extended ministries that He has entrusted to us.

In this year’s report we have endeavoured to provide you

with stories about the families and children we encounter

in all of our services. We aim to provide holistic care that

meets the physical, emotional and spiritual needs of

people and builds on their strengths.

I would like to acknowledge the commitment and

work of the Board. Their willingness to give of their time

and expertise contributes significantly to the success

of Integricare.

In conclusion I would like to thank all our supporters

who have continued to uphold our

work through prayer, financial

contributions and encouragement.

Most of all I would also like to

acknowledge God for His grace and

love which give us the opportunity

to provide Christian service to

members of the community.
