Integricare Children’s Centre Turrella
Here at Integricare Children’s Centre Turrella we have
been a valuable part of the fabric of this community for
26 years, reflecting the diversity of the local community
with staff and families originating from many different
cultures. We pride ourselves in working in collaboration
with our families and the local community.
Integricare Children’s Centre Parramatta
Integricare Children’s Centre Parramatta has provided for
community needs for the past 41 years. Families come to
us from many different backgrounds and with vastly
different needs. We strive to develop strong partnerships
with families supporting their children to grow into
confident learners with a strong sense of community, a
voice and influence on their world.
Open the door and see the child:-
• with a huge smile ready to explore. Our learning
environment builds on strengths and interests as
they grow.
• who cries anxious to leave the security of their family. A
parent reminded me of those stressful days where she
needed as much support as her child, now a happy
thriving learner, to settle into the centre.
• with unique ways of learning and communicating. We
provide programs that meet their learning needs
through building strong interagency networks. These
children are teaching us as they grow.
“Children at the heart of our community”
Catherine Weeks
One ofmany children we have welcomed into our Turrella
family is 4 year old Billy (name changed). We worked
closely with Family and Community Services to reunite Billy
back to his family from an Indigenous background; a sad
story of a family torn apart by drugs and alcohol. With
the right support from government agencies, flexibility with
childcare, support with fees, prayer and emotional support
we were part of a happy ending for Billy and his family.
For us as staff, we learnt about the rich heritage of this
family’s culture which enriched our programmes for all our
children and their families.
