n 2005, Bishop Peter Ingham decreed that our
school name would change from St Mary's
to
Mary Immaculate Parish Primary School
, to
align it with the Parish name.
A new school crest was adapted which reflected
a merging of the parish crest and the previous
school crest.
In 20 years, the parish had grown to include a
two-stream school with 420 students, a Church,
a Hall and a Presbytery. Enrolment applications
in the early years were often as high as 120
students for 60 places. Students were also taken
fromMt Carmel Parish as there was no Catholic
Primary School in that parish.
