Christ First is our first Core Value and it flows through
everything that is taught and done at St Philip’s Christian
College Gosford. Staff are keen to encourage students
in their Christian life. There is a desire to help each
student understand more about the Bible and how to
relate it to the student’s circumstances during Christian
life classes. The aim being to help each student in their
own personal relationship with God.
Our College emblem depicts five loaves and two fish
super-imposed over a cross. This insignia symbolises
the value of every child (taken from the account of the
young boy who gave five loaves of bread and two fish
with which Jesus fed 5000 people). All parts of the
emblem are symbolic of a sacrifice for the well-being
of others. Most important of all, the cross stands as
a monument of the atonement won for us by Christ
at Calvary and the power of the risen Lord for our
everyday lives.
Chapels are held for each of the sub schools in an aim
to have a service that is relative to all age groups. It
provides an opportunity for students to express their
own understanding of God to their fellow students.
Students are encouraged to be involved in the
Chapel services through worship, drama and sharing
testimonies of their experience of God.
“For what I received I passed on to you as of first importance
that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures”
1 Corinthians 15:3
