My wife Leanne, who had been fantastic support throughout my ordeal, suggested as we
had already booked accommodation we may as well continue. We followed the event
through to the finish with her driving and me dosed up on painkillers along with our friends
Kerry and Larry Coyle and Glen Badger. We picked up the car and trailer in Davenport and
got the ferry back to Melbourne, but this is where the next part of the return trip was going
to be tricky as I didn’t want Leanne having to tow a trailer across the Nullarbor and there
was no way I could sit in a car for that long. Larry came to the rescue and drove the car and
trailer to Adelaide where he was met by Brad Peters and the two drove the car back to Perth.
Many, many thanks go to these good mates.
The car and I are both on the mend, although I am not sure which will take longer the car
or me. All in all Targa Tasmania was a fantastic adventure, which we will do again someday!
