8. President’s Report:

The President invited Ross Oxwell to report on the recent events at Albany: Ross gave

thanks to the team behind the events, especially those who stepped in to assist at the last

minute; the numbers of spectators were up on last year’s event and the Albany City Council

has given favourable consideration to support the event for the next five years

The President reported that:

He planned to meet again with the Albany City Council in several weeks to seek a

commitment from them for the event.

Plans for the club’s 30th anniversary year are proceeding well and celebrations will

begin with a cocktail party in September

– Ron Fabry reported that:

There had been a break-in to the clubhouse several weeks ago; the club’s safety

trailer and some pictures were stolen; damage is being repaired and additional

security is being arranged.

Now is an opportunity to consider alternative venues for the club’s base and

meetings.

The project car now has a dashboard and steering wheel installed and wiring is in

progress.

– Craig Bradtke reported that he was planning a run for competition vehicles

from Midland to Caversham in September as a re-run of a similar run several years ago.

At the Albany Classic, a realistic approach had been taken to enforcing driving

standards; generally the standard of driving was good.

The Mt Clarence hillclimb was successful and Dick Ward set a new track record

Planning is now underway for the Collie Coalfields 500 (1&2 Oct) and the

Goomalling Sprint (15 Oct)

A group has been established to review the eligibility of vehicle for regularity events
