Concessional Licences
On behalf of classic car enthusiasts, the Combined Motor Clubs of WA has been working
with the Department of Transport for several years to expand the conditions under which
Concessionally Licenced vehicles can be used.
While some progress is being made, it is very slow. While there is
no change
yet, there are
likely to be two changes to the conditions:
• The introduction of a 30 km radius from the vehicle’s garaging address for “road testing”;
• The introduction of a new “single vehicle trip” to allow owners to take their vehicles on
extended trips with prior written approval of their club.
Until these changes are announced, we are restricted to the existing conditions as printed
on your licence document i.e. vehicle to be used only in connection with club events or
purposes approved by the Director General.
We will let you know as soon as any further changes happen - stay tuned.
