the leadership in our community, and I hope to gain invaluable

knowledge and grow from the interaction with those people who

are also involved.”

Corinne’s greatest hope for her new role is to develop strong

pathways and partnerships between Aboriginal organisations

on the Coast and to further cultural affirmation and the

positive and progressive things that are happening within

the community. “I am really inspired by what is happening in the

other Empowered Community sites and wish to look at the

things we have in common with these communities that we can

replicate here on the Coast.”

Corinne’s background includes almost twenty years in the

welfare sector, with Aboriginal youth and also Aboriginal

women’s services, before joining NSW Family and Community

Services (FACS) in 2009. In 2015 Corinne took the position of

Senior Project Officer, working on the FACS wide Aboriginal

Cultural Inclusion Framework (ACIF) and some of the Safe Home

We welcome Corinne to the Barang team and look forward to

drawing on her experience to further develop our organisation.

The Board would also like to take this opportunity to congratulate
