MAGNA AWARD

Hurstville Museum & Gallery was the winner of MuseumAustralia’s

2016 MAGNA Award for ‘Best redesigned permanent exhibition’

for

St George Stories: people, places, community

– congratulations!

They also received a highly commended for the temporary

exhibition,

Remembering them: People of St George & the FirstWorld

War.

RIVERWOODWETLANDS

Georges River Council was awarded a grant totalling $81,800

from NSW Environmental Trust to restore and rehabilitate

Riverwood’sWetlands at Salt Pan Creek.

CCTV

The Federal Government has pledged more than $285,000

to fund the installation of closed-circuit television (CCTV)

cameras across the local government area.

Under this funding commitment, $190,140 will be

invested in the installation of 14 CCTV cameras at seven

locations in the Hurstville CBD. In addition $96,080 will

be allocated for the installation of 11 CCTV cameras at

four commercial precincts, including Kogarah, Carlton,

Allawah, and South Hurstville.
