Quality Training
Participants will have the opportunity to
review over 300 emergent examinations
covering all organ systems and
modalities commonly encountered
in the emergency radiology setting.
Through participation in multiple
interpretation sessions under the
supervision of expert faculty, the
participant will develop a higher level of
expertise and confidence in emergent
imaging. Formal lectures will cover the
core concepts, organised by organ
system.
At the conclusion of this course,
participants will be able to:
• Develop a systematic search pattern
for evaluating MDCT examinations of
the multiple trauma patient
• Recognise common and significant
injuries in trauma
• Familiarise with potential sources of
missed diagnoses and interpretation
pitfalls in MDCT of trauma
• Understand basic technical principles
for proper acquisition of CT images
in the emergency patient (trauma and
non-trauma)
• Learn characteristic appearance of
various causes of acute abdominal,
chest and pelvic emergencies on plain
radiography, CT and US
• Review common and uncommon
fractures of the upper extremities,
lower extremities, and pelvis and spine
with emphasis on the easily-missed
fracture.

Phase 2 Exam Preparation Course

Preparation Course will be taking place at Rydges World
Square, Sydney, NSW. The course is designed for trainees
as they approach exam readiness.
The course aims to provide trainees with an opportunity to:
• Better understand the exam development process and
how exams are marked
• Simulate sitting the Viva exam and receive feedback
immediately afterwards
• Practice a written question from each paper,
workshopping the answers with the Phase 2 examiners
• Develop strategies to cope with exam stress and ensure
they perform to the best of their abilities.

Friday 13 May 10:00 am – 5:30 pm
Saturday 14 May 7:45 am – 5:30 pm
Sunday 15 May 8:00 am – 1:00 pm
Registration Fee
$1,100.00 incl. GST per trainee
Registration includes morning tea, lunch, afternoon tea
and refreshments throughout the duration of the course.
A cocktail reception will be held on the Friday evening of
the course and is included in the registration fee.

Course and Exam Preparation Course will be taking place at
Rydges World Square, Sydney, NSW. The course is designed
for Phase 1 trainees who are aiming to sit the Phase 1 exams.
The intentions of this course are to:
• Provide didactic lectures in the main topic areas to
supplement trainee knowledge in the four basic sciences
• Provide an opportunity for trainees to ask specific
questions of experts in a dedicated questions and answer
session, as well as informally following individual sessions
• Provide specific guidance on exam preparation and
techniques including mock exam on the Sunday
• Provide an opportunity for you to network professionally
and socially.

Friday 17 June 8:00 am – 6:00 pm
Saturday 18 June 8:00 am – 5:00 pm
Sunday 19 June 8:45 am – 12:30 pm
