Did you know…

The Post Fellowship Education and CPD

Committees have worked together to develop CPD programs

that align clinical radiology and radiation oncology in structure,

requirements and points. To be CPD compliant, radiology and

radiation oncology CPD participants are required to:

• Complete a minimum of 30 CPD points per year

• Complete a minimum of 180 CPD points per triennium

• Complete CPD activities across a minimum of 3 categories

Compliance with CPD is mandated by the College, and is a

requirement for specialist registration with the Medical Board

of Australia and the Medical Council of New Zealand.

For more information, refer to the 2016-2018 CPD handbooks via

http://www.ranzcr.edu.au/cpd/overview

The

Australian Health Practitioner Regulation

Agency (AHPRA)

requires all registered medical

practitioners in Australia to participate in CPD that is

relevant to their scope of practice. From 1 October

2016, the Medical Board of Australia will enforce

revised CPD and recency of practice registration

standards. For further information refer to: http://www.

medicalboard.gov.au/Registration-Standards.aspx

CPD participants registered to practise in Australia

should also note that AHPRA has commenced randomly

auditing medical practitioners. It is advised that

members retain evidence of their CPD activities for the

duration of the triennium and an additional two years.

For more information on AHPRA’s audit, go to: http://

www.medicalboard.gov.au/Registration/Audit.aspx

The

Medical Council of New Zealand (MCNZ)

requires all New Zealand Fellows, Educational

Affiliates and CPD participants to meet the

requirements of the CPD program which includes:

• A minimum of one Audit per year

• A minimum of 10 hours of Peer Review activity

per year

• A minimum of 20 hours of Educational Activities

per year

Members registered to practise in New Zealand

should also note that MCNZ conducts an annual

random audit of 15% of medical practitioners each

year. For more information on MCNZ requirements:

RANZCR CPD Audit

Each year the College undertakes a random

audit of 7% of members participating in the

CPD program. This is an opportunity for our

members to ensure that they are compliant

with the RANZCR CPD program and are

fulfilling their medical registration requirements.

The audit provides members an opportunity

to review and understand the appropriate

evidence that they need to provide when they

claim CPD points. The RANZCR CPD Audit

commences in May every year and only the

previous year of CPD activities is audited.

For more information on the RANZCR CPD

Audit, refer to:
