Dad's Army News
Dad’s Army Tuesday – September 29
To the relief of coordinator Ron Fabry, we had a
day with no police presence and the boys were
able to get some work done outside.
Denny Cunnold found himself on the end of a
shovel instead of a panel hammer while the
president washed down the driveway. Bruce
Jones, assisted by Mark Duder and advised by
Paul Wilkins, removed fallen trees from the
premises with his Land Cruiser and a snatchem
strap. Kevin Dorn worked on the club lawn
mower and the editor wandered round taking
photographs of people working.
Bins were emptied, floors cleaned and the club
rooms readied for the October general meeting.
The morning wound up with an excellent
morning tea supplied by Graeme Whitehead
with the able assistance of Terry Le May.
Any club members who can spare one Tuesday
or Saturday morning a month should join the
Dad's Army mob to keep the club rooms tidy
and get the Caversham Car up and running. The
dates are at the bottom of the page opposite.
Ron Fabry gets the gates open at 8am and the
kettle on for early arrivals to enjoy a cup of
coffee or tea
before work
starts at
9am. After the day's work is complete, the troops gather
around the table for a convivial morning tea provided
by Graeme and Terry.
Not only do you get to enjoy good company once or
twice a month, but you get free entry to the Christmas
and Christmas in July functions, which are always fun.

This Year we will visit Ian Boyd’s Vincent motor bike

race car and three Jaguars. This is all displayed in a
purpose built display area in the middle of his home! This display area is one not to be
missed, it’s great!!
Format for the December 3 trip is as follows:
We will all meet between 7.30 and 8am at the back entrance to Bruce Jones home at 29
