The February general meeting has come and gone and those who

were present received their trophies for the 2015 season. There are

photographs of the worthy recipients on page 22. A list of all the

winners is on page 6 following the minutes.

Enthusiastic VSCC member Tony Gilfuis has set up a transport link

for members who wish to compete in the eastern states, See his letter

to members on page 16 for details.

You'll also find information about the Rare Spares Loyalty

Programme and the CAMS Social Media Policy on page 11.

Page 10 sees the

From the Library

, the start of what I intend to make a regular column, with

the assistance of Club Librarian Mark Jones. The club's library has a great selection of books,

many of them long out of print but all of them interesting to members for the information

they contain about our cars, where they came from and how they were used (or misused)

back in the day.

Mark Duder tells the story of his pretty -and pretty quick - Alpine A110, starting on page

12. Mark uses the car as much as he can and the photographs show it at Barbagallo,

Northam and even Caversham for Dad's Army. Other shots show Mark hard at work

restoring the car to its original shape.

Another regular is the book review on page 18. This issue the book reviewed is

John Surtees:

My Incredible Life on Two and Four Wheels

, a book from my own library. This book is very

much still in print and well worth chasing up from your favourite book shop.

On a more serious note is the article on child restraints in classic cars on page 20. The

information comes from the Department of Transport and from David's research.

Finally, if you are having last minute problems getting your car to Phillip Island, have a look

at Evan Edwards' advertisement on page 24. Perhaps Evan can provide a solution to your

transport problems.
