Presidents Report:
•
There have now been 2 break-ins at the Clubrooms resulting in significant loss of
club property.
•
RO has consulted a Security expert about securing the Clubhouse. A monitored
alarm, sensors and sirens (<150dB due to Occupational Health & Safety
regulations) will cost ~ $3,500 with ongoing $450/yr for monitoring (not including
callouts). Given the remote nature of the site; the ease with which thieves can
render an alarm useless (spray foam in sirens/earmuffs etc.) it was felt an alarm
system would not stop break-ins.
•
RO advised club members to keep an eye out in the VM for guest speakers, which
are now being advertised in advance of the next club meeting.
State of Play Reports:
a) Competition:
Paul Bartlett reported that:
•
Collie 500 organising Committee is working flat out to get the event ready for
October. Key job at the moment is rounding up officials for the event. It is
envisaged that the 2 day event will incorporate hillclimb; race & regularity. Entries
out in about a fortnight’s time.
•
Goomalling Sprint- revised track plan has been submitted to CAMS for approval.
The course will be quite similar to previous events.
•
PB advised that Robbie Rhoades has officially stepped down as Chief Scrutineer.
PB thanked Robbie for his efforts to date and advised that Barry Macintosh will
step into the breach to cover the role.
