New Baby
– Ian Fry advised that the Fry household would take delivery of a new
baby in the form of a Supercharged Austin.

Club Bar
– Graeme Whitehead requested donations of stubby holders and asked
members not to take them home.

RAC Caversham article
– It was disappointing that the recent Caversham article
made no reference to the VSCC. The RAC have written back apologising and
offering to do a future piece about the VSCC.
•
Supper
– RO thanked Sue & Rad Dickerson for putting on the Club supper. Ian
Fry kindly volunteered to do the supper at the next meeting.

Guest Speakers Phil & Alan Shephard brought in their E type Jaguar and talked about their
assault on the salt in pursuit of speed. The car concerned was originally owned by Harley
Pederick (see photographs above) and came into WA in 1962. A fantastic collection of
photos was shown with some great stories about winners and losers on the salt. It appears to
be more of a technical challenge than you would expect to get car setup spot on, keep the car
going straight/fast and not blow it up before the 3 mile timing line!! Awesome stuff.
