M Grogan asked that the VSCC consider supporting the reinstatement of a central

Scrutineering panel to coordinate scrutineering between all clubs. Rob Mitchell

backed the call and gave members a short account of the role of the body.

b) 30th Anniversary.

Terry Smith advised that the next event is a run to York on the 10/11th September.

Attendees to park their cars at the back of the Courthouse where an area has been

dedicated to the VSCC.

There will be a fair in York over the weekend and Terry encouraged participants to

have a picnic lunch in town. Admin to the Motor Museum is reduced by 50%.

It was agreed that attendees could if they wished assemble at the old stone

roadhouse (before the Lakes turn off) at 10 then drive in a group to York arriving at

11am.

14 members indicated interest. PB to send an email to all members as a reminder.

An invitation only cocktail party for founding members and club officials both past

and present will be held at Peter Briggs on 24th September. Cost $55/head.

An event open to all club members to celebrate the Club’s 30th anniversary will be

held later in the year. Ed Farrar will advise.

c) Workshop

R McGlashan event was well oversubscribed. Apologies to those who indicated

interest but could not go due to limited spaces. Great event enjoyed by all.

Project car – big thanks to Wally Phoebe for wiring up the car which now has

working lights/indicators/fuel pump etc. Thanks to all who have offered to house

the project car in light of break-ins. The project car will stay at Caversham, which is

more suitable for the members.

Ron Fabry indicated that additional security measures would be installed on the

clubhouse and workshop to deter thieves. The Club library will be moved into the

main meeting area to keep it secure.

RF visited a potential new Clubhouse (old aboriginal school that backs onto

Caversham) now owned by Ertech. The building is an old classroom which at a

pinch could be used. RF/RO will keep on talking to Ertech to see what quid pro

quo may be required to secure the site for the VSCC if the need arises.

Brief discussion about the York Street block as a site for a new clubhouse.

Reminder that others are interested in the site and tender process can be expected.

The VSCC's chances of success in getting the site will improve if co-bidding with

other community organisations e.g. netball Assocn/Mens Shed.

A final list of options will be prepared and presented to Club members for

consideration.

d) Library

Mark Jones reminded members that books are available. 3 book reviews have been

printed in the VM but nothing borrowed.... Club members please step up.
