On Tuesday 10 November, 2015,

The Royal Australian and New Zealand

College of Radiologists (RANZCR)

attended a morning tea organised

by the Australian Diagnostic Imaging

Association (ADIA) at Parliament House

in Canberra to celebrate the 4th annual

International Day of Radiology (IDoR).

International Day of Radiology

celebrates the anniversary of Wilhelm

Conrad Roentgen’s discovery of the

existence of X-rays on 8 November in

1895.

The annual event is celebrated around

the world to build a greater awareness

of the importance of radiology in

the community and the significant

advances that have been achieved in the

healthcare system through diagnostic

imaging.

The theme for the fourth year of IDoR

was paediatric imaging. The day was

dedicated to highlighting the crucial

role that radiology has in the detection,

diagnosis and management of a wide

variety of diseases affecting children and

the specialised treatment required for

younger patients.
