Darkinjung Barker College was invited

by the Manly Warringah Sea Eagles,

along with other Aboriginal and Torres

Strait Islander artists, to submit artwork

in a competition to design the club’s

2017 Indigenous football jersey to be

worn by players during the NRL’s

Reconciliation Round.

On 17 August 2016, 25 students at

Darkinjung Barker College contributed to

the school’s entry.

The award-winning local Aboriginal artist

Aunty Wendy gave her time and talents

to teach the students about art and help

them to create their masterpiece.

The children were able to express

themselves individually through Aboriginal

art and had a fantastic time with Aunty

Wendy learning about dot painting,

Aboriginal symbols and their meanings.
