This induction guide
This induction guide has been prepared to support your journey. There are three sections in this
Induction Guide, which in brief contain:

Section 1 – Bupa and Bupa Aged Care Australia
This section includes a brief overview of who we are, what we do and what we stand for as an
organisation. It is aimed at giving you a small glimpse of the company that you have joined.

Section 2 – Care Home and Workplace
This section gives you insights into life at your care home. Although every home is different there
are some basic elements which are consistent such as our ‘Person-First’ approach to residents, our
volunteering and reward and recognition programs, our standards and expectations of employees,
both in performance and conduct.
This section highlights key aspects of your new workplace which will help you adapt to your care
home, and better integrate with your new team and colleagues.

Section 3 – About You: Development, Performance, Recognition and Celebration
Development is a critical part of your induction process. Development happens through three main
channels: Self-paced learning (online and paper based), Classroom Training (Education sessions)
and on-the-job training (Buddy Shifts).
In this section you will find detailed information on what training is available to you and how your
performance will be tracked, measured and recognised.
