Bon appétit! All the French

students had the opportunity

to have a “Taste of France”

this year. Firstly, the crêpe van

visited OLMC to celebrate

Bastille Day, making a

selection of delicious crêpes

before our

eyes.We

ordered

in French, while listening to

French music. Formidable!

Year 8 students feasted on

croissants, pains au chocolat, baguettes and French

cheese. The Brie was a particular favourite. Some

students even tried some cornichons.Très bien!

The elective students were very lucky when Bistro

32 in Caringbah opened the restaurant just for them.

They were treated to an “amuse-bouche” on arrival

and sat down to an authentic French meal. Délicieux!

The highpoint of the year for twenty one elective

students was the trip to New Caledonia. We were

blessed with excellent weather and we made the

most of our time by trying out our French whenever

we could. We loved our visit to Collège de Tuband.

The students interacted with each other, exchanging

information about life in Sydney and finding out about

life in New Caledonia. Another highlight was the day

trip to PhareAmedée - swimming, snorkelling, a buffet

lunch and dancing. Merveilleux!

2015 presented many opportunities for fun and

genuinely authentic learning in French language and

culture, We are certain that these experiences will

be an integral part of the development of global

citizenship for our students.
