technical applied studies REPORT
All TAS students were
guided and supported
while engaged in a range
of
challenging
design
projects. Year 7 students
of Technology Mandatory
designed and constructed
interior rooms and 3D room
models, themed wooden
clocks and aprons containing
promotional design.
Year 8 students of Technology Mandatory further
extended their designing skills by creating appetising
lunch designs, leisure shorts and entertaining
animated movies.
Year 9 students of Textiles Technology produced
marketable hoodies, explored decorative textile arts
techniques and designed and constructed theatre
character corsets. The students gained inspiration
for their designs while visiting a theatre costume
showcase at Enmore theatre.
Year 9 students of Industrial Technology Multimedia
and Photography completed a range of dynamic
photography and video design projects producing
promotional materials, movies, animations and
impressive movie trailers. Animation skills were
further developed while engaged in the Digi Ed
animation incursion.
Year 9 students of Food Technology visited the
Hospitality Establishment to gain insights on knife
and food presentation skills. They developed an
appreciation of indigenous food and the impact of
other cultures on the food we choose. They designed
menus, planned and produced enticing food from
other cultures and significant celebrations. They
gained an awareness of eating for good health and
designing and analysing healthy eating.
Year 10 students in Textiles Technology designed
and constructed vibrant and contemporary non-
wearable textiles products. The students gained an
appreciation of the work of fashion designers and
produced wearable textiles products that ranged
from formal dresses to stylish smart casual outfits.
Year 10 students of Industrial Technology Multimedia
and Photography produced contemplative fashion
photography and portraiture work, and high end
promotional material using animation techniques.
They attended an Australian Film and Television
workshop at Fox Studios and the insights they gained
assisted their short film production.
