LIBRARY RESOURCE CENTRE REPORT
2015 has been a challenging
year in the library. We are
very much looking forward
to being at the heart of the
school in the lovely new
building which has been
creeping skywards during
the year.
Despite the difficulties caused
by the building program we
have been continuing to
provide an environment for students, individually
and as class groups, to research, study, work together
and read for pleasure, and the resources to facilitate
these activities.
Book Week this year had the theme “Books light
up our world”, and we continue to seek out the
most engaging new fiction and graphic novels, and
to respond to requests from the students. It’s great
to see and hear of the love of reading some girls
have. We continue to be convinced, on the basis of
powerful evidence, that developing a love of reading
is a very powerful predictor of future success.
Mrs McNeill and Mrs Remedios continue to give us
essential support. We all look forward to an exciting
future in our new home and the opportunities that
will open up there.
