Culture – defining, creating and sustaining it:
insights from leading organisations
Central Rooms B & C, Ground Floor
As super funds become larger and more complex businesses, the challenge for their leaders is to be
clear about what culture they need for organisational success and then how to create it. This challenge
is heightened now as we face the opportunities presented by digital technology and social change.
This session will explore the challenge of defining a superannuation culture, bringing together
research, consulting and leader perspectives on culture and its part in organisations.
Professor Neal Ashkanasy will examine the nature and role of culture in a successful organisation. Julie
Gebauer will discuss how leading businesses create, change and sustain culture through leadership
and talent management, drawing upon global research from leading businesses across 29 countries.
Michael Dwyer will then bring the perspective of an Australian fund CEO on how creating the right
culture can both support business success and mitigate risk.
