Students also conducted English

classes for students at the Agape

English School and spoke at a church

service.

The culture of Cambodia was

experienced through visits to the

Royal Palace, local markets and the

Angkor region. A tour of the Killing

Fields and the S21 Torture Museum

was an emotional experience and

helped students to understand the

tragic history of Cambodia.

In sharing their experiences at a Senior

School Chapel, each student was able

to reflect on how their perspective on

life had been changed.

East Timor Mission Trip

Over the mid-year holidays, six

students from Year 11 and 12, along

with Mr Grace and Mrs McCracken,

travelled to East Timor for our third

school mission trip. The students had

the opportunity to teach English to

other students in the remote region

of Ermera Villa. We also took a number

of electronics kits for the school to use

as part of their science curriculum. We

Term3 has seen Senior School students

involved in a variety of educational

experiences. MissionTrips toCambodia

and East Timor, Science Week and

Book Week have all been rewarding

events. Many thanks to the staff for the

effort they put into organising these

activities for our students.

Cambodia Mission Trip

During theTerm2 holidays, twelveYear

10 students and four teachers headed

to Cambodia to partner with New Life

Fellowship and the Agape English

School. The key mission for both of

these groups is to bring hope and a

bright future by breaking the poverty

cycle through education and Jesus.

Students were involved in running

soccer clinics and activities for young

children that the Church is assisting

through their Children @ Risk program.

One of the highlights was a trip to

the Takeo province where students

were able to experience life in a rural

village. The soccer match with the local

children was played in torrential rain

but no-one seemed to mind.

travelled to Hera where we worked in

the Kids Ark School, visited the church

and participated in visiting and praying

with some of the patients from the

disability clinic. All of the students came

back feeling that their lives had been

impacted in an amazing way.

BookWeek

During Book Week, students were able

to participate in writing workshops

with renowned Sudanese author, Abe

Nouk. This was a highly educational and

valuable experience for all involved.

ScienceWeek

During Science week students from

across the College had the opportunity

to participate in a wide range of activities

focused on the theme of Drones, Droids

and Robots. These activities included:

hovercraft rides, a VEX robotics display

and a Quadcopter obstacle course. There

was also an opportunity for students

to interact with the sheep and calves

which are part of the Agriculture and

Horticulture program.
