Highlights
Term 3 has brought many fun-filled
learning opportunities such as Science
Week, Book Week/Parade, RALFF
Awards Ceremony, Archaeological Digs
and History Up Close the Notables
experience.
‘No Bull’ presentation has been one
of the most inspiring anti-bullying
programwe have hosted. The program
is aimed at inspiring young people
to take a stand against bullying,
understanding that they are the
greatest part of the solution to bullying.
The passionate Planetshakers’ 'No Bull'
team, filled the theatre with energy.
Year 6 to the Immigration Museum
As part of their Humanities curriculum,
the Year 6 students and three German
exchange
students,
visited
the
Immigration Museum and Sandridge
Bridge in the city. Students learned
about Australia’s rich history of
immigration and how connected we
are as global citizens. They enjoyed
analysing artefacts at the museum and
gained a deeper understanding of the
migrant experience.
MindMatters
In order to promote positive mental
health amongst staff and students,
all teachers have participated in
MindMatters’ training and group
discussions. The program focused
on Adolescent Development and
Resiliency Building. Such knowledge

student. Charlotte has been awarded
the Fred Hollows Humanity Award at
the Victorian Presentation Ceremony,
which took place at the Parliament
House on 7th September. We are proud
of our compassionate students who
make a difference.
Flynn Collier is the Year 7 State
Champion for the second year in a
row! Congratulations to Flynn on his
impressive performance at the State
German Poetry Competition.
La Trobe Valley Eisteddfod SDG Choir
We celebrate our SDG Choir’s
achievements as they returned from
the La Trobe Valley Eisteddfod with
excitement after winning two Second
places and a total of $350 in prize
money. Well done to the students and
their Conductor for their efforts and
commitment to see this Choir rise to
the top.

Student Achievements
Twenty-five Middle School students
participated in the ICAS (International
Competitions
and
Assessments
for Schools) Science competitions.
Studentsachievedthe followingresults:
1 High Distinction, 7 Distinctions, 6
Credits, 7 Merits and 4 Participation
awards.
We celebrate the achievement of all
students who took on the challenge.
In particular, we congratulate Thomas
Lindsay (Year 7) on achieving High
Distinction, Grace Tinsely (Year 5), Kara
Van der Westhuizen (Year 4), Charlotte
Atkinson and EE Shane Lim (Year 7),
Benjamin Agnew, Samuel Lindsay and
Darcy Matheson (Year 8) who have all
achieved Distinction.
